Lytham

Lytham is a traditional village which has grown into a small town with superb shops, pavement cafes and restaurants which are the equal to any in the North of England. Originally the local industry was fishing and shrimping and Lytham shrimps are available at our excellent fish and game merchants, Lanigans. Set along the Ribble Estuary, with view over to North Wales.

The Green at Lytham features a Windmill which was a working mill until mid way through the 20th Century. The lifeboat has always been a large part of life in Lytham and it can be seen operating in the Estuary most weekends. Several new executive housing developments in Lytham offer good quality modern housing and there is also a good standard in traditional homes, bungalows and apartments available for rent.

There is a good selection of local schools with primary schools for younger children and Lytham St. Annes High School and St. Bedes for older children. There are also several fee paying schools, such as King Edward and Queen Mary Schools which have an excellent record of achievement.
